Board view & grouping

Switch the Messages table to Board from the toolbar (or the View row of the view summary) to work your chats as a Kanban board.

Lanes come from a single-select column. Each option of that column becomes one lane; chats with no value sit in a No value lane. Dragging a card between lanes sets the field — it’s the same data as the table, drawn differently.

Because lanes are options, you can:

  • rename a lane — double-click it,
  • recolour a lane — the Recolor action on the lane,
  • add a laneAdd column, type a name. Duplicate names are rejected with {name} already exists”.

Everything you do to lanes changes the underlying select column, so the table and the analytics update too.

If you don’t have a suitable select column yet, use New group:

  1. Click New group in the board header.
  2. Enter a Group name — this becomes the column name.
  3. Add your lanes (the column’s options). At least one is required.
  4. Create group.

This creates a single-select column where each label becomes a board column.

You don’t need the board to group. The Group row of the view summary sets a grouping dimension for the table as well, and No grouping turns it off. Grouping is saved as part of a view.

Tickets have the same board, and additionally group by the built-in ticket fields:

  • Status
  • Priority
  • Assignee
  • any ticket custom select column
  • New Group to create one on the spot
