Telegram group and channel search
Telegram group finder: search public groups and channels
You typed "crypto" into Telegram and got your own chats back, because Telegram search matches names, not subjects. This search works the other way. Type a topic, choose groups or channels, and it searches the public t.me pages Google has indexed, where every group page says "members" and every channel page says "subscribers". Free, and no account needed.
Search public Telegram groups and channels
Four queries, built from what you typed above. Each one opens Google in a new tab, restricted to public t.me pages.
| Look for | What it matches | Query | Open on Google |
|---|---|---|---|
| Groups | Public t.me pages that list members, which only groups have. | | Open on Google |
| Channels | Public t.me pages that list subscribers, which only channels have. | | Open on Google |
| Channel posts | The text of public channel previews, so it matches what a channel posts, not only its name. | | Open on Google |
| Exact name | The topic as a phrase, for a community that names itself exactly that. | | Open on Google |
Type a topic above to build the queries.
Opens Google in a new tab, filtered to public t.me pages. Entergram does not host, rank or vouch for any result. Google has indexed only part of Telegram, and member counts in snippets can be weeks old, so open each one before you trust it. Private groups never appear here or anywhere else.
Or search Telegram itself, from your own accounts
Google only knows the part of Telegram it has crawled. Connect your accounts and ask Claude or ChatGPT instead: the search runs inside Telegram, on your own accounts, and each result says whether one of them is already in that chat.

Matches names and usernames, not message content. Rate limited, because it runs on real accounts, and never inside a private group the account was not admitted to.
After the search: one inbox for every Telegram account you run
Entergram is a Telegram CRM built on real personal accounts, not bots. Manage 100+ accounts from one inbox without switching between them, each on its own proxy. Every chat can carry a stage, an owner and custom fields, any message can become a ticket, and analytics show how fast your team replies. It does not pull member lists out of groups your accounts have not joined, and it does not sell contact data.
To spot buying signals in groups you have already joined, use the Telegram lead finder. To send one personalised message to many existing chats, see the broadcast tool.

Why Telegram's own search runs out
Telegram search is good at the job it was built for. Type a word, get chats whose name or username closely matches it, which makes a Telegram group search by name or a Telegram channel search by name quick when you already know what the chat is called. For finding a conversation you already know exists, that is exactly right.
It stops being right the moment you are looking for something you have never seen. A group called @devs_berlin_2024 will not surface for "Berlin developer community" unless the words happen to line up, and plenty of the best communities have names that describe nothing at all, so there are public groups Telegram search will never surface for a subject. Results also lead with chats and contacts you already have, which is sensible for messaging and useless for discovery. There is no activity signal, so a group of 40,000 members that has been silent since March looks identical to a group of 400 posting every day. And there is no topic or language filter, so you cannot ask for communities in Portuguese, or in a niche, or above some level of activity.
Telegram finds chats by name, never by subject. Better queries fix the first half of that. Judgment fixes the second half, and no index can do it for you.
A Telegram group search works better with two or three words than with one
Specific queries beat broad ones, consistently, whether you search Telegram groups here or in the app. crypto returns noise forever; solana validator operators returns a shortlist. Two or three words describing a real subject will almost always outperform a single category word, and adding a city, a country or a language narrows it further in the direction you actually want. That holds for any Telegram groups search engine, this one included.
If you search for Telegram groups in a community that is not English-speaking, search in its language. Group names and descriptions are written by the people inside them, so a Portuguese-speaking community is far more likely to describe itself in Portuguese than in English.
There is no "Telegram groups near me" button any more. Telegram removed People Nearby in September 2024, so a city or district name in the place field is now how you find local groups. Many Telegram groups find new members through links posted in related groups, so the first local group you join usually leads to the next. The local and city Telegram groups guide covers how those groups name themselves.
Telegram channel search works in the same box
Switch the mode and the box becomes a Telegram channels finder. A channel is a broadcast feed where only admins post. Its public page says "subscribers" where a group's says "members", and that one word is what the Channels option filters on. Channel posts goes a step further. Public channels with previews turned on publish a readable copy of their recent posts at t.me/s/name, so a search there matches what a channel talks about, not only what it is called. That is the closest thing to a subject search that works without an account. Many channels also attach a linked discussion group, and when that group is public, a Telegram channel group search with the Groups option can find it too.
For the manual routes (Telegram's own search, the channels Telegram suggests after you join one, directories) and how to vet a channel before you subscribe, read how to find Telegram channels.
Check Telegram group health before you join
No search result tells you whether the conversation is worth your time. This is the step that separates a useful list from a folder of dead links, and it takes about ninety seconds per candidate.
- Last message date. The single strongest quality signal. A community quiet for two months is usually not coming back.
- Several days of history, not five messages. You are looking for whether people talk to each other, or whether one admin is broadcasting into silence.
- Rules and a visible admin. A pinned rules message correlates strongly with a group worth your time. No rules plus constant promotional links means you found a spam farm.
- Conversation-to-link ratio. Healthy communities discuss things. Unhealthy ones are a wall of forwarded promotions and the members are mostly bots.
- Authenticity. For a company's or project's official community, get the link from their own website or verified account, not from a Telegram group search link that someone forwarded. Impersonation groups are common and often larger than the real thing.
Groups, channels and supergroups behave differently
Search returns all three mixed together, and they are not interchangeable. A group is a conversation where members talk to each other. A channel is a broadcast feed where only admins post. A supergroup is a group that grew into Telegram's larger-capacity form, with better moderation tools. Join a channel expecting discussion and you get an announcement board; join a busy group expecting announcements and you will mute it within a day. There are no servers either. If Discord taught you the word and you came looking for a Telegram server finder, the nearest equivalent is a public supergroup, which admins can split into topics much like the channels inside a server. So a Telegram server search is really a supergroup search: pick Groups in the box above. The full breakdown is in group vs channel vs supergroup.
After you join: the part that actually costs time
Finding groups is a one-time cost. Keeping up with them is the recurring one, and it is where most people quietly give up. Once you are in thirty communities across two or three accounts, Telegram's search cannot help, because it runs one account and one keyword at a time. It cannot tell you who asked about pricing across all your groups this month, which groups have gone quiet, or whether anyone ever answered a question.
That is a different problem with the same solution as the search above: connect your accounts and query across the whole set at once from an AI client. For reading and summarizing, see searching Telegram with AI.
What this does not do
This page is a method, not a directory with its own database. The search box hands your query to Google, and the page itself publishes no group names, member counts or activity dates, because those are numbers we have not measured. Private groups are out of reach for everyone: they require an invite, they are not searchable here or anywhere else, and any tool claiming otherwise is either describing public groups or misrepresenting itself. For public groups, the checks above tell you that a community exists and what it appears to be about. Whether it deserves your time is a judgment only you can make, after looking. The step-by-step manual methods are in how to find Telegram groups.
Running the same search from Claude or ChatGPT
Everything above is the manual method and it works, but it does not scale past your own patience. Twenty query variations, checked one at a time, across three accounts, is an afternoon. That is the part worth handing to an AI client.
The Entergram MCP connector exposes every Telegram account on your seat to Claude, ChatGPT or anything else that speaks MCP. Ask it to find communities on a subject and it runs Entergram's live Telegram search on a connected account, then hands back two lists: chats one of your accounts already belongs to, and chats out in the open that none of them have joined. Each result carries its visibility, its member count where Telegram publishes one, and whether anyone on your team is already inside.
That last column is the one that saves real time. It is the difference between finding a promising group and finding out a colleague has been in it since March.
Finding a chat is one job of several on that connection. The same accounts can populate CRM fields, open and triage tickets, send from whichever account should be sending, and answer analytics questions computed straight off the raw message events, because the MCP exposes the events rather than a fixed set of reports.
Worth saying plainly: Telegram is not a lead generation platform, and Entergram is not sold as one. What it is: one inbox for a lot of Telegram accounts. The MCP hands that same connection to your AI client, so if lead generation is the job you want done on Telegram, you can run it there yourself, next to everything else those accounts already do.
Questions worth asking it
- Find active Telegram groups about solana validators that none of my accounts have joined yet.
- Search every account for channels matching this term and tell me which ones we are already in.
- Look up this @username and tell me which of my accounts already knows them.
- Find groups matching these five subjects and sort them by member count.
Two honest limits, and they apply to every tool rather than just this one. The search matches names and usernames, not what people said inside a chat, so a community whose subject never appears in its title stays invisible until you find it the manual way. And it cannot open a private group your account was never admitted to. It is also rate limited on purpose, because it runs on a real Telegram account and Telegram treats aggressive querying exactly as it looks.

Frequently asked questions
Can you search all public Telegram groups?
No tool can. Telegram's own search matches usernames and chat titles close to what you typed, and it leads with chats you have already joined. Nothing indexes every public group. The search box on this page covers only the public t.me pages Google has indexed, which is part of Telegram, not all of it. Entergram's live search runs on a Telegram account you have connected, matches a name or username rather than message content, and is rate limited. Searching by subject therefore means combining queries, web results and recommendations, which is what this page covers.
How do I search Telegram channels by topic?
Choose Channels in the search box and type the topic. It searches public t.me pages labelled "subscribers", which only channels carry. Choose Channel posts to match what channels publish instead of their names. Neither covers every channel, because Google indexes only part of t.me, so treat the results as a starting list.
Is this Telegram group search free?
Yes. The box runs through Google and needs no account or sign-up. Entergram's live search, which runs on your own connected account and shows which chats your team already belongs to, needs an Entergram workspace.
Is this a Telegram group search engine?
Not in the sense of having its own Telegram groups index. It is a Telegram group search website that borrows Google's: the box adds a t.me filter to your topic and opens the results, so it covers only the part of Telegram that Google has crawled. That limit applies to every tool doing this job without an account.
Is there a Telegram group finder bot?
A group finder bot answers from the list its owner collected, and nothing more. Entergram is not a bot. Its live search runs on a personal Telegram account you connect, matches names and usernames, and labels which results your accounts already belong to. The search box on this page needs neither a bot nor an account.
Can I search Telegram groups with AI?
Yes, with the same limits as any other method. The Entergram MCP connector lets Claude, ChatGPT or another MCP client run live Telegram search across every account on your seat and return groups, channels and people, split into ones you already belong to and ones you do not, with member counts where Telegram publishes them. It matches names and usernames rather than message content, it is rate limited because it runs on a real account, and it cannot open a private group you were never admitted to.
Why does Telegram search show channels when I want groups?
Names and topics overlap, and Telegram returns channels, groups and contacts in one list. For groups only in the box above, choose Groups, which filters on the word members. In the app, open the result and check whether ordinary members can post in the main conversation. If only admins can post, it is a channel, which is a broadcast feed rather than a discussion.
How do I tell an active Telegram group from a dead one?
Check the date of the most recent message, then read back several days. Activity is the most reliable quality signal available and no search result shows it, so you have to open each candidate and look. Member count is the least useful number on the page.
Is it safe to join public Telegram groups?
Joining is low risk, but review your privacy settings first so your phone number is not visible to other members, be sceptical of direct messages that arrive shortly after you join, and never trust a group claiming to represent a company unless you reached it from that company's own website.
Can I find private Telegram groups here?
No. Private groups require an invite and are not indexed here or anywhere else. Any tool claiming to search them is either describing public groups or misrepresenting what it does.
Can you search for groups on Telegram without an account?
On the web, yes. The box on this page searches public t.me pages through Google and needs no login. To search groups on Telegram itself you need an account, and even then Telegram search for groups matches a chat's name or username, not its subject.
Can you search groups on Telegram by topic?
Not inside the app. Search there matches names and usernames, so a Berlin developer group called @devs_b stays hidden from the word Berlin. That is why the box above searches the public t.me pages Google has indexed, where a group's description counts as well as its name.
Is this a Telegram group link finder?
In effect, yes. Every result is a public t.me link, so it works as a Telegram link finder for groups and channels. Open each link and check the group before you join, because a link tells you a chat exists and nothing about whether it is alive.
What is the best Telegram group finder?
Telegram group finders come in three kinds, and none covers everything. A submitted-link directory, such as the Groupda Telegram search engine, lists what people chose to add. A bot answers from its owner's list. A web search like this one can find groups Telegram's own search misses, but only where Google has crawled. Combine them, then run the ninety-second check above on whatever you find.
How does this compare with a Groupda search?
Groupda and Groupsor list links that users submit, so a Groupda Telegram search returns what someone chose to list there, with the description they wrote. A Groupsor Telegram search works the same way. The box above searches t.me pages directly through Google, so a group does not need to be submitted anywhere to appear. Neither approach verifies anything, so check every result before you join.
How to find Telegram group ID?
For a public group, the username in its t.me link is the identifier most tools accept, and you can do a Telegram group lookup by pasting that @username into the check field above. The numeric ID is what Telegram's API uses. Telegram Web shows a numeric ID in the address bar when you open the chat, and developers read it from the API. A private group has no public username, so you need to be a member to see either.
How to make Telegram channel searchable?
Set the channel to public and give it a username, which can be 5 to 32 characters of letters, digits and underscores. A public channel can be found by name in Telegram's search and gets a t.me page Google can index. Put the subject in the title and the description, because that text is what search matches.
How do I manage the groups after I join them?
Telegram folders are enough for one person. Once several people manage several accounts, ownership and follow-up need to be visible in one place, which is what a Telegram CRM does.
