How to find startup and SaaS Telegram groups
The useful founder communities on Telegram are regional or stage-specific. The ones that describe themselves as global startup networks are almost always promotion feeds.
Telegram's startup communities cluster around geography far more than around topic. There are dense, genuinely useful founder networks in Eastern Europe, Turkey, Southeast Asia, Latin America, India and the Gulf, and the members of each mostly know one another offline. That is what makes them work and it is also why a query with no place in it returns nothing good.
The second axis that matters is stage. A pre-seed founder and someone running a 60-person company have almost no overlapping problems, and the communities that try to serve both end up serving neither.
How founder communities name themselves
Real ones are specific about who belongs, because exclusion is the feature. Promotion feeds are deliberately broad, because reach is their product.
- City or region plus role: "berlin founders", "lisbon startups", "jakarta founders"
- Stage or model: "bootstrapped saas", "pre seed founders", "b2b saas operators"
- Function within a startup: "saas pricing", "developer relations", "seed fundraising"
- Avoid as a search term: "startup", "entrepreneur", "business", "networking" alone
Queries that return signal
Two or three words describing a real subject beat a single category word every time, and these are starting points rather than a list to work through. Narrow each one with a place, a language or a specific tool and the results tighten quickly.

What a good one looks like
- Specific numbers get shared. Real operator communities discuss actual MRR, actual churn, actual CAC. A group where nobody mentions a number is a networking room, which is a different product.
- There is a joining filter. An application, a referral requirement or even just an admin who asks what you are building. Friction at the door is the single strongest predictor of signal inside.
- Threads continue over days. Someone asks about a pricing change and people are still discussing it two days later. That is a community. A wall of unanswered introductions is not.
- Promotion is rationed. Healthy founder groups have a weekly promo thread and enforce it. The enforcement is what keeps the other six days usable.
"Global startup network" means paid promotion
The large, borderless, English-language startup groups are almost entirely a market for attention: founders posting launches at other founders posting launches, with nobody reading. Many of them sell pinned posts outright. The tell is the ratio of introductions and launches to questions. If nobody is asking anything, nobody is there to help, and you have found an advertising surface rather than a peer group. Narrow to a city, a stage or a business model and the dynamic changes completely.
Finding one person, not a room
Half of what people mean by finding someone on Telegram is not a group at all. It is a specific person, and you already have one identifier for them: a username, a display name, or a phone number.
Telegram's own client makes the phone number case awkward, because it wants the number saved to your address book first. Entergram does it directly. Starting a new conversation lets you search people by username, name or phone number and open a one-to-one chat with the result, from whichever connected account should be the one making contact.
- Search by username when you have a public @handle. This works even for someone who is not in your contacts and has never messaged you.
- Search by name when you only know who they are. Expect several matches and check the profile before opening a chat.
- Search by phone number when the number is what you were given, which is the normal case for a lead from a form, an invoice or a business card.
This is the niche where phone number search earns its place. Founders and operators hand out numbers constantly, at events, on calls and in email signatures, and far more of them will have a Telegram account attached than you would guess from the fact that they never mentioned Telegram. Pasting a number into search and finding an active account is frequently the fastest route to a conversation that email would have taken a week to start.
Two honest limits. If a number has no Telegram account attached, you get told so plainly rather than being left guessing. And whether a person is reachable by number at all is their choice: Telegram has a privacy setting controlling who can find them this way, and nothing overrides it. That is a feature rather than an obstacle, and any tool claiming to bypass it is misrepresenting what it does.
Asking across every account at once
Finding communities is a one-time cost. Keeping up with them is the recurring one, and it is where most people quietly give up. Once you are in thirty groups across two or three accounts, Telegram's search cannot help, because it runs one account and one keyword at a time. It cannot tell you who asked about pricing anywhere this month, which groups have gone quiet, or whether anyone ever answered.
The Entergram MCP connector closes that gap by exposing your connected accounts to any AI client that supports MCP, such as Claude or a compatible editor. Instead of searching, you ask a question in plain language and it reads across every account, chat and group you have connected, then answers.
- Which groups have I joined that have had no activity for a month?
- Who mentioned pricing across all my accounts in the last two weeks?
- Summarise what happened in my three busiest groups yesterday.
- Find every unanswered question directed at our support account.

Frequently asked questions
Where do startup founders actually talk on Telegram?
In regional and stage-specific groups rather than global ones. Founder communities on Telegram are dense in Eastern Europe, Turkey, Southeast Asia, Latin America, India and the Gulf, and they are usually tied to an offline scene. Add a city or a country to your query and the quality changes immediately.
How do I tell a founder community from a promotion channel?
Count questions. A community contains people asking for help and getting it. A promotion channel contains launches, introductions and pitches with no replies underneath them. A joining filter of any kind is also a strong positive signal.
Are there SaaS-specific Telegram groups worth joining?
Yes, mostly organised around a function rather than the category: pricing, revenue operations, product-led growth, developer relations. Those stay useful because the discussion is narrow enough for members to share real numbers.
